Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been earned on hardcourt

A comeback the Russian player secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament title decider.

The Russian, a former world number one, has experienced a difficult season, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

The player's unpredictability on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in especial - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually parting ways with long-term trainer his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden trophy after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court from spring of that year.

The win also means the Russian has secured 21 victories at twenty-one various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to get a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his last six title deciders, comprising in Halle earlier this year.

The player's retrieving approach and recurring outbursts on court had led observers to question if his skill to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

He recovered from a deficit in the opening set against the challenging Moutet, winning four of the last five exchanges to take the lead.

The pair swapped service breaks in the second set before the challenger, bidding for his initial professional championship, seized the initiative to create a decider.

Moutet saved four initial chances in a tight deciding set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Fittingly, he clinched victory with a rally at the net, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
